As I had done in corporate marketing, I got to know my ideal customers (yep, those boys!). I assessed what I already had to meet their needs and crafted a strategy to obtain all that I lacked – knowledge, a plan for their care, and a plan for my care. I was off and running with 'implementation’ when we learned one son had some developmental delays. I was afraid of what the future held, but concluded I had to lean in and learn more about child development to set him up for success. I soaked up all the knowledge I could from specialists, books, conferences, parenting classes, teachers, and more before I was tapped to become a certified parent educator myself.
